2024 April Masterclass

Skyline’s 2024 April NGV Masterclass was another successful coming together of the Year 11 and 12 cohorts – a day to broaden perspectives on what can be expressed through art and how the creative process, including critical thinking and problem-solving, relates to all facets of life.

Generously hosted by NGV Victoria in collaboration with NGV Educators, students explored a range of First Nations exhibits, including Wurrdha Marra and Watercolour Country: 100 Works from Hermannsburg, and Top Arts 2024. They also enjoyed a curator talk and Q&A with Top Arts artists Hadi Ahmad and Chaaya Sharma. Skyliners were delighted to tour local art and design during a self-guided exploration and participated in an interactive art-making workshop exploring patterning, adornment and images of nature, inspired by the themes and mark-making of contemporary Australian artist Joshua Yeldham.

As always, it was a joy to see the Skyline students come together and continue to build strong connections with their fellow students and Skyline alumni.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Krystyna Campbell-Pretty AM for her incredible support, which has made this masterclass possible.
