Simon never really took education seriously as he believed his path was defined by his disadvantaged circumstances. He has had to acquire a job to support his mother, who raised him and his two siblings on her own, and has to travel long distances to attend his extracurricular activities.
As a Year 12 student at Western Port Secondary College, he studied Legal Studies, Music, Ancient History, English and Further Maths.
The Skyline Program was recommended to Simon and now provides him the opportunities to pick up valuable skills and meet new people. His hobbies include drama and archery, but Simon is most passionate about playing music and singing, as was evidenced at the Year 11 Residential Program at Anglesea, where he had everyone, including the CEO, on chairs singing and moving to music.
