Music is Mya’s passion that has become a central part of her life. She is a recent graduate from Lyndale Secondary College. She studied English, Psychology, Legal Studies, General Maths and Music Investigation.
As the Music Leader at her school, Mya is passionate about connecting with students and giving them the opportunities to be comfortable in expressing themselves with music. She credits singing in a talent show at school and joining the Hairspray musical with helping her develop self-confidence. Since, Mya has written and recorded her own track, 21, where she sings about the person who she would like to become. This year, Mya hopes to complete her very own album and successfully graduate from high school.
Since joining Skyline, Mya has had the opportunity to speak at the Skyline Annual Reception in 2020, which has helped improve her self-confidence. She now feels more comfortable with who she is and in expressing that with others around her.
After completing VCE, Mya wishes to go to university and meet new people with similar passions and interests. She looks forward to pursuing a career in music, psychology, and teaching and is always nspired by her mother to go out of her comfort zone and to always improve herself.
