Joe applied to the Skyline Foundation for its financial support but has been surprised and grateful to experience the emotional and practical support the Program offered its students. He has enjoyed creating “meaningful, long lasting connections” with his peers and gaining an insight to where he wants to pursue his education.
Currently, he is studying Year 12 at Narre Warren South P-12 College. He has overcome his self-doubt and lack of confidence in applying for the Skyline Foundation scholarship and has become “one of the fifteen 2019-2020 Executive Committee members for the VicSRC through a state student education”.
Joe is passionate about representation of people with special needs, especially within the education system. He desires to help others who may share similar experiences as his two younger sisters who have Autism and Down Syndrome.
