Joe applied to the Skyline Foundation for its financial support but has been surprised and grateful to learn of the emotional and practical support and opportunities the Program offered its students. He looks forward to creating “meaningful, long lasting connections” with his peers and gaining an insight to where he wants to pursue his education.
Currently, he is studying Year 11 at Narre Warren South P-12 College. He has overcome his self-doubt and lack of confidence in applying for the Skyline Foundation scholarship and has become “one of the fifteen 2019-2020 Executive Committee members for the VicSRC through a state student education”.
He is passionate about representation of people with special needs, especially in regard to the education system, and wants to give others who share similar experiences to his two younger sisters who have Autism and Down Syndrome.
