Having immigrated from Malaysia, Crystal shared the challenges of adapting to a new culture with her family and school community at the Melbourne Girls College. She was a member of the Year 10 Council and is involved with the Youth in Philanthropy program as well as the tutoring program at Richmond West Primary School.
She is passionate about writing as she believes “words are the most straightforward and comprehensive form of expression”. Although Crystal has been accepted into a Bachelor of Nursing at Monash University, she also has a great potential interest in journalism.
Crystal defines Skyline as being “synonymous with support”. While the Program provided students with financial assistance, she highlights how it gave her many networking opportunities with like-minded peers and industry professionals, as well as unconditional support from Program managers. In 2020, she wants to focus on experiencing new things, becoming more independent and throwing herself into the unknown. Whatever it is Crystal comes to do in the future, she intends to make the most of an “occupation that fosters my passions and aids others”.
