Hardship affects everyone differently. For Anna, it was waking up at 4am to work alongside her mother at a paper factory in Port Melbourne. Despite this, she maintained top scores in all her classes in her schooling at Braybrook Secondary College. She has performed to the best of her ability with a passionate resolve not to let her future “be determined by the economy of the country we are born in”.
Inspired by the different architectural styles around the world, she currently pursues her passion for design by studying a Bachelor of Design at the University of Melbourne.
The Skyline Foundation has provided Anna with a “second family”, where each person’s life story and ambitions were championed despite their background. Her favourite quote from Martin Luther King Jr. reads, “…They will not be judged by the colour of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Anna sees a bright future ahead of herself where she is “successful and happy” and surrounded by her “wonderful friends and family”.
