Our warmest end of year wishes to every single member of our Skyline Community – thank you for your hugely valued contributions in 2021.

May you have a peaceful, restorative and loving festive season and we look forward to all that is coming in 2022 as we wrap around 165 Students in their VCE journey and extend our ongoing support to our 316 Skyline Alumni.

SKYLINE’S CLASS OF 2021 GRADUATION AND CLASS OF 2023 ONLINE INDUCTION CEREMONY

Such a special ceremony was held on Saturday 27 November 2021 with our inspirational Students and Alumni sharing their stories and reminding us so eloquently as to why we should wrap around them to empower their aspirations. See here opening remarks from our MCs Kristy Chung from Keysborough and Kamran Jaan from Northern Bay Secondary Colleges.

We are grateful to (then) Graduands Mazin and Lu, from Collingwood and Brunswick Secondary Colleges respectively, officially Inducting our new Students and welcoming them into what will be known as the Class of 2023; and prior, sharing their stories here:

SKYLINE LAW ROCKS – BATTLE OF THE BANDS!

What a great night we had at the Brunswick Ballroom on Tuesday 23 November with over 200 in the crowd loving the live music from the brilliant bands in our legal fraternity, uniquely anchored by Red Symons and raising funds to support four Students in the Skyline Program next year! Amazing!

Huge thanks to David and our artists who created a miraculous (third time lucky) night for us and to Red for his amazing support! Thanks so much to our generous Donors for our Auction and Raffle and to everyone in the organising team for staying the course, led by Lex, Bev, Peter, Julie and Vicki; and to our fabulous Alumni JasminShehelah and Long for so diligently adjudicating the so very talented field!

Gratitude to the wonderful Skyline Team who so ever reliably supported on the night – especially to Andrew and Nancy with the all-important Square!

A WORD FROM OUR CEO

Huge thanks for the role you have played to support Skyline’s impact in 2021 – listen to Jane’s message of appreciation on behalf of us all here.

FOCUS ON STUDENTS

At the Graduation and Induction we were so pleased to hear from North-East Student Lachie about his crossroads, courageous decision making and incredible personal, educational and career progress.

FOCUS ON OUR EDUCATORS

One of the many touching moments at our recent Ceremony was with Danny from Dandenong High School as he so meaningfully shared his story and thanked our wonderful Principals and Companion Teachers for the difference they make for all Students. Enjoy the replay here!

FOCUS ON OUR ALUMNI

As Alumni Steven and Long officially Graduated the Skyline Class of 2021, they shared their insightful reflections on the impact Skyline has had for themselves, and it was great to also hear from Shehelah as she retires from her elected Alumni Leadership role to take up her appointment to an employment position in the Skyline Management Team as a Program Manager Assistant. Congratulations Shehelah!

It was amazing to hear from Mai Tran – our brilliant Alumna from Melbourne Girls College in the Class of 2009 – all the way from the USA – addressing the Students at our recent Ceremony with a message of inspiration and encouragement – watch Mai here!

SKYLINE HATCH

Over a thousand Students from over a hundred Schools participated in Year One of Skyline Hatch services!

Incredible!

As one of the 16 Alumni employed in Hatch, check out EAL Lead Tutor, Theano, so eloquently sharing with us at the Graduation and Induction Ceremony!

Skyline Hatch delivers a range of academic and wellbeing services designed to help Students approach their VCE with confidence and achieve their dream ATAR.  This year we ran weekly online tutoring classes for U1/2 and U3/4 in English, Maths and Chemistry, along with Stress Hack, SAC Preparation, GAT Preparation and Exam Revision Masterclasses. Not to mention Goal Setting and Mindset workshops with some of our wonderful partner schools including Dandenong High School, Keysborough College and South Oakleigh College.

As a social enterprise, all profits from generated though Hatch are returned to Skyline Education Foundation to enable more Students to join Skyline’s life changing two-year program. So when you sign up to Hatch, you’re also making a difference by supporting Skyline.

Here's some of the Hatch Team at our end of year celebration on a beautiful, sunny day in Melbourne.  We’re looking forward to another amazing year in 2022.

APPRECIATION TO OUR BEV BROCK!

On behalf of us all, Shehelah expressed our gratitude to our marvellous Bev Brock who, as a Founding Director, is now stepping down from the Board. We are immeasurably grateful for all Bev has contributed in her sustained service to Skyline to date, and very much look forward to her remaining close and engaged in her new role as an esteemed Ambassador for Skyline Education Foundation Australia. Listen to Shehelah thanking Bev and check the beautiful video (thank you Andrew) expressing our heartfelt appreciation.

THANK YOU TO OUR DONORS

As 2021 draws to an end we take the opportunity to thank our wonderful Donors and Supporters – without whom our work at Skyline is not possible. We are grateful to Joe from Narre Warren Secondary College who, on behalf of us all, when sharing his story at our recent Graduation, underscored the significance of our generous Supporters.
